WayPoint RV Resort & Brewery - Palmetto, Florida
WayPoint Palmetto Florida is an RV and restaurant/brewery concept for a 50 acre property owned by a wholly-owned affiliate of Rob and Dan Harte near Tampa Bay in Manatee County Florida. Acquired in 2006 to support the mitigation activities of South Swell Development Group and zoned for an RV resort, the 25 acres of wetland areas of the parcel were restored in 2008 with activities that included removing all exotic and invasive plants and replacing them with new plantings of over 20,000 native Florida plants. The plans for the unrestored 25 acres of these lands call for a conservation-oriented, next generation 200+- unit RV resort, catering to a growing segment of the leisure industry, and programed to provide an experience-rich resort with less density than the historical parks, celebrating open space and the restored natural areas.
