Beachwalk Resort is Lake Michigan’s planned “new-urban resort” community whose heritage includes such well-known communities as Seaside, Florida and Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. It shares their attention to detail in street development and commons resulting in walkable “towns” with an intricate fabric of mixed uses and amenities. More than 200 homes—a mix of unique cottages and grand homes, share tree-lined streets and lanes, a community pool, putting green, tennis courts, parks, a basketball court and all the benefits of the private 25 acre Lake Kai—fishing, beach volleyball, kayaking, SUP'ing, and more.
In 2016, UDG acquired the remaining buildable lot inventory at Beachwalk and immediately began the process of re-invigorating a marketing program that had been stalled for over 10 years. UDG’s successful campaign created an environment that saw it sell all of the remaining 30 lots in 18 months, quite a feat given only 10 lots had been sold in the previous 10 years. In addition, in 2017 UDG acquired the abutting 45 acres of undeveloped land, with an eye towards planning a use that is complementary to and celebrates the successful neighboring Beachwalk Resort.
